I regret buying. There are no parallel stories or puzzle elements, there are few graphics which are heavily reused, and the main plotline is very slow & boring.

The game is a VISUAL NOVEL with two stories; you can play as an emotionless woman inspector or as a new enthusiastic male enforcer. Both story arcs last for a few hours and are mostly the same (same background picture, same text, same story) with only a few intermittent changes. Both stories are in Japanese with English subtitles. The reason I've given it a low star rating, apart from the length/cost, is that there are better examples of this genre available to download on your phone. The choices it gives you make no difference to the plot, except for half a dozen slides never referenced again. Whether you take mood balancing drugs or not make no difference to the plot. The only choice you have which really effects the plot is the last one which will show you the good ending/bad ending. Therefore replayability is minimal as once you've played through as the other character you will have read the same plot twice.

Psycho-Pass seems like a re-run of the first anime season, but that was enjoyable so it works out okay.

Cubed3 Rating Anyone who doesn't enjoy Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness clearly needs to get their Hue checked. The story is enthralling and compelling, with enough routes and flags to warrant replays. It manages to add more depth to the characters and universe, which were already well developed, and is a better accompaniment to the superb first season of the anime than the movie or second season. There have been some phenomenal Visual Novels over the years, games like Steins;Gate , Danganronpa and the Zero Escape series, so there's no higher praise than to say this is easily on par with those gems.

A little more love could've made Mandatory Happiness an essential visual novel, but as it stands, it's still a pretty good cyberpunk adventure.
