Rogue Stormers biedt veel plezier voor fans van actie en co-op games, vooral dankzij de vier speler co-op en de verschillende speelbare personages. De procedureel gegenereerde levels zorgen voor veel herspeelbaarheid, maar de variatie in vijanden en omgevingen is beperkt. Veel spelers melden framerate- en optimalisatieproblemen, zelfs op krachtige PC's. Vijanden zijn vaak lastig te verslaan en voelen repetitief aan. Online multiplayer is lastig te vinden door lege lobbies. Het spel is vooral leuk met vrienden, maar solo kan het snel eentonig worden.

Cubed3 Rating Rogue Stormers just isn't a package that can be easily recommended. The difficulty is largely unfair, including enemies who don't die when they should, and come at you in groups of 30 strong. While there's nothing wrong with the controls or artwork, there's nothing really noteworthy either. Rogue Stormers is a bland experience when it works, and a hair pulling experience when it doesn't.
