Rogue Stormers biedt een uitdagende mix van platformactie, twin-stick shooter en RPG-elementen, met veel herspeelbaarheid dankzij willekeurige levels en het vrijspelen van personages. De co-op modus tot vier spelers is een pluspunt, maar de multiplayer is minder gebalanceerd dan solo spelen. De progressie is traag en vereist veel grinden, wat sommige spelers kan frustreren. Ook kan de besturing druk en onwennig zijn, vooral in het begin. Het spel is vooral geschikt voor liefhebbers van uitdagende, herhaalbare actie met een vleugje RPG.

Not bad. Permadeath with permanent perks as you level up your characters, so it eventually gets a little easier for the beginning few missions. A blast with friends. Couch-coop or online modes.

Cubed3 Rating Rogue Stormers does an interesting genre mixing of platforming, run-and-gun, and RPG elements. On paper this seems like it could be pretty cool, however, it's all very slow given the genre, and there is not much really going on beyond crawling forward a little at a time and killing trash mobs running forward. There are perks, equipment, and other RPG trappings, but they are just filler that do not get around the main problem that this simply isn't that fun. Its style and ideas are interesting, but each level feels the same, and the very root of the entire system is not interesting enough to really encourage any desire to play for any length of time.
