Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War biedt een unieke combinatie van strategie en actie, waarbij je als huurling grote veldslagen leidt en verschillende eenheden commandeert. De niet-lineaire opbouw en vele aanpassingsmogelijkheden zorgen voor veel herspeelbaarheid. Toch wordt de gameplay na verloop van tijd repetitief en laat de AI vaak te wensen over. Ook zijn de graphics inmiddels verouderd en ontbreekt een multiplayer-modus. Dit maakt het vooral een aanrader voor liefhebbers van tactische actie die zich niet storen aan technische beperkingen.

This game is horribly inaccurate in its representation of the Hundred Years War. The dialogue is pretty horrible, the French accents are cringeworthy, and it can get dull after a while. That being said, I had hours upon hours of fun playing this game. Once you get the handle on it, the battles become a hilarious mess of charging your squad straight into a melee and seeing who comes out on top. I don't recommend this for the campaign or the repetitive gameplay, I recommend it because it reminded me that I can just have fun playing the game, and not care about the plot, themes, or tactical management.

Love this game. Massive replay ability. Mostly because no matter what you do its all the same anyway.

I bought this for my little boy who is normally very good and even the most challenging war games. It's in another language so it's a complete waste, unless you know japeneese.
