Football Director

Football Director DS is, without question, the worst, most bug-ridden mess of a football management game that I have played since the days of my Commodore 64, i wouldnt give it one star but i had no choice, i came 2nd first season and it congratulated me on winnin the league, every player that gets injured is always out for 13 weeks, i got agbonlahor, lennon, deco, anderson, reo coker on loan for 5 weeks and hav ended up with them for good, in my 2nd season i won all 6 of my games in the european cup and stil got knocked out, i won the league then got ronaldo, lampard, vidic, on loan again, if this is the best they can do, god help us,

I bought this game in a supermarket for £25, having read no reviews on the basis that I've been playing football manager games for over 20 years and surely by now the makers of these games know what works and what doesn't. This game sadly proved me wrong, devoid of any thought or attention to detail, this game commits the most cardinal of sins of football management games in that your input as manager appears to make no difference whatsoever. A few years ago I downloaded Championship manager for my mobile phone. Even that ultra slimmed down version had more depth and challenge to it than this game, avoid at all costs.

I have had this game for two weeks now, and it's terrible. I won the league with Arsenal doing nothing but press "next". I didn't need to change tactics at all throughout the whole season - when Almunia, the keeper was injured I was forced to play a striker in goal and this had no negative effect whatsoever. It was so negligible that Bentner played there for the rest of the season. On a winning run through Europe, I was suddenly out of the competition despite having won the previous knock-out fixture. My players were sold, or left on Bosmans without any warning that their contracts were about to expire, or any attempt to negotiate a new contract with my team. Toure and Almunia left my leaugue-winning team to join 15th placed Middlesborough for less money! Despite promises on the website, you cannot buy players from other european nations either! Very shallow, very random, devoid of meaningful tactical decisions, or any sense of accomplishment when things go your way!

This is a very poor atempt at a game. You have no idea if you are going to run into debt, and you can only manage English teams. Players only have a few attributes, and ther are no fullbacks, wingers etc just goalies, defenders, midfielders and attackers. Buy something else.

ok clearly not the best manager game out there not much of a challange the in game matches are basically just a text comentary like the old champ manager games and just looping crowd noise. on the upside if you are new to manager games this might be quite useful the game has a tutorial and always highlights the section u should go into. but u can just basically progress by pressing continue unless u force your self to go into player tranfers and formation settings and so on. all i can say is that if there is another game released make it more challanging maybe put some game modes on there and a realistic match engine the fifa games are on ds so why we cant have a realistic match here i don't know or even just a 2d engine so yes relese more manager games but make them better
