Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is een JRPG die voortbouwt op de originele Tales of Symphonia. Het spel introduceert een nieuw monster-pact systeem en verbeterde graphics, maar heeft ook kritiek gekregen voor de overvloed aan cutscenes en het ontbreken van een wereldkaart. This game is apart of a long series of game named the tales series and this one is a sequel and spinoff of the first game named Tales Of Symphonia but in this game we play as a scrawny young boy named emil who through the power of your decisions can either be good or bad, but thats up to you yo decide the story

This was the first Tales Of game I ever played, and I am very glad I did. The story and graphics remind me of PS2 games like Dark Cloud/Chronicle and the like. The humor is enjoyable, even if it occasionally falls flat. I had zero knowledge of the other Tales Of games, including the prequel game "Tales of Symphonia." Even so, I don't think that hindered my experience at all. In fact, I look forward to when I have time to play the prequel. I would recommend playing at least twice, as the things you learn in the first playthrough actually make some bits of dialog more meaningful than you at first realize. It was a revelation to go back through and understand some of the game's hints in a new light after understanding more about the story and world.
