Metal Gear Survive biedt een uitdagende survivalervaring met veel nadruk op resource management, crafting en basisonderhoud. De coöperatieve multiplayer zorgt voor extra speelplezier, vooral als je samenwerkt om golven vijanden te verslaan. Toch wordt de gameplay vaak als eentonig en repetitief ervaren, met weinig afwisseling in missies en vijanden. Op de standaard Xbox One zijn de prestaties matig, met lage resolutie en haperende framerates. Daarnaast is een constante internetverbinding verplicht, zelfs als je alleen speelt, wat door veel spelers als storend wordt gezien. Het verhaal en de personages zijn weinig memorabel, zeker vergeleken met eerdere Metal Gear-titels. Over het algemeen is het een degelijke survivalgame, maar met duidelijke tekortkomingen voor fans van de serie.

Absolute Garbage , it try’s to be a zombie shooter and a stealth game at once . The zombies are not really zombies but rather a weird crystal monster with a spike for a head . The stealth is sloppy at best . The biggest disappointment is that this comes from a great series and had the potential to be something great .
