Music was odd, and one of the last puzzles was pretty difficult.

I never felt so detached from the story of a game like I did here. The worst thing is that I cant even be bothered to pay attention to these dialogs and considering you cannot skip them it quickly becomes a chore.

Cubed3 Rating Despite the obvious potential for it to be an atmospheric detective adventure, Post Mortem fails to meet many of the most basic standards of quality. Plagued by technical and design problems, uninspired design and poor storytelling, if you were hoping for an immersive, gripping murder mystery look elsewhere. There’s a reason why one can find this piece of forgotten software at ridiculously low prices, even when it is bundled with its better sequels - sadly themselves heavily flawed too.

I never play investigation games. I have very rarely cared for any point and clicks. I hate puzzle games. I was lured in by the pretty girl, the art and the price. I'm sure this game is perfect for someone else.

Post Mortem has this weird habit of uncannily providing almost the exact amount of things to enjoy and things to frustrate, leaving me in a weird perpetual sense of indecision. It reaches its hodgepodge of sporadic highlights when it decides it wants to be a Noir game; to that end, retired private dick Gustav McPherson is lured back into service for just one more job by a seductive, mysterious woman. The crime to investigate? MURDER! The dame’s sister and brother-in-law have been mercilessly slaughtered in their hotel bed, then decapitated and left purposefully posed, holding their own heads. The client doesn’t trust the police, she says, bloating her genre cliché count with reckless aplomb. Gus is her handpicked man for the job, she says, because she can count on him to be discreet.
