The Surge is definitely one of those “you either like it or you don’t” games. I personally liked it, mostly for the character stat progression and gameplay. The story was pretty “meh,” but it’s also one of those games where story doesn’t really matter either.

Fun game a lot better than I expected I purchased the dlc content because I got hooked on the game. It is challenging but once you understand the way the beast works it’s a lot of fun!!!

This game had great potential that was immediately lost when every enemy respawns when you go back to the “Medbay”(your base) to upgrade/change equipment. It also doesn’t help that there is only one place that you can do this on the entirety of the first level. I got so tired of dying while exploring with loads of tech (the resources) that I just farmed the beginning enemies until I had what I wanted and then went exploring. I was suddenly thrust into the 1st level boss fight only to be soundly beat to a pulp more than 10 times until I just gave up on the game. All in all I “played” the first level over 3 hours and could not beat it. I have been playing video games my entire life and I’ve never wanted my time back from playing a game until now.

A great game to play. Hours upon hours of fighting zombies? or monsters? either way..it's nonstop fun! Exploring around is even better, coming across area's you won't see coming from. The world is a much difference place to be in.
