Age of Wonders: Planetfall biedt een diepgaande 4X-ervaring met veel strategische keuzes, zes unieke facties en uitgebreide aanpassingsmogelijkheden. De sci-fi setting en tactische gevechten zorgen voor veel variatie en herspeelbaarheid. De singleplayer-campagne is lang en uitdagend, en er zijn diverse multiplayer-modi. Wel kan de hoeveelheid informatie en de interface overweldigend zijn voor nieuwe spelers, en multiplayer wordt onderbroken als iemand een gevecht voert. Animaties zijn soms wat simpel en de visuele effecten kunnen druk overkomen. Over het algemeen is het een aanrader voor liefhebbers van strategiegames, maar er is een leercurve en enkele kleine frustraties.

bought physical game for son. Finally, played a demo off PS4. Didn't like the style, myself. My son claims he loves it. Go figure....

Reminds me of the old pc fantasy style game I loved decades ago, but this is not as replayable by far. Very nice looking game with nice music and art. I did not care for the Tech tree which takes forever and has too many variables. Also the story mode doesn’t allow much deviation if you want to beat the missions in less than 5 years. Overall, it’s a fun but just an ok game that’s way too time consuming with minimal satisfaction.

Fun if plodding 4X game that really scratches my turn-based itch. Space opera goodness with Human, Space Dwarf, Giant Bug, Techno-zombie and Dinosaur-riding Amazon factions available. Big fun!
