Marvel's Avengers PC

Tremendously un-fun game that punishes you for not achieving all the objectives. Without achieving all mission objectives you will not receive the skill point that can be used to buy upgrades. Without upgrades the successive missions get more and more difficult. What a waste of time and money.

Combat is effectively a turn based stealth assassin game. It sound weird in theory, but in practice it works beautifully, and I found it a really clever and fun iteration on the genre. While it lacks the polish of Mark of the Ninja, it's genuinely fun, and the generous checkpoint system means you can tackle every single room as its own murder puzzle. The assassin's hitbox is somewhat generous, as if a firing trajectory would graze him, he will just duck and dodge the shot. There's a bit of jank (it's not always clear how wide the arc of your swing will be during 1 turn, the aforementioned grappling hook will occasionally noclip you through walls, and some of the systems could be better tutorialized), but where it shines, the game is really good. I liked it very much, and I will definitely play it again in the future.

Other versions of Ronin have been updated to fix several potentially game-ruining bugs which are still present on GOG's version of the game. Devs haven't addressed this problem in spite of being asked to do so. Don't recommend supporting a dev who won't support their storefronts.

I enjoyed the game. It's hard at times, but once you figure out the tactics, it's beatable. The comic book in the Digital Special Edition is nice, too. The plot is simple - you must avenge your father who was wronged by a group of powerful and evil people. Fortunately, you were trained by the best. With your sword, grappling hook, and a couple extra gadgets, nothing can stop you! Study your opponents. They can have more than one way of killing you. Time is your enemy. Learn to use the tactical pause option against it. (Tip: to use it outside of combat, you need to press AND HOLD spacebar). The Doctor is the trickiest foe. And be careful with the grappling hook - sometimes it can drag you right through walls, which can be useful but mostly is uncomfortable.

One of my favorite games, gets hard towards the end. I see a few reviews talking about bugs and it just plain not working but from my playthrough I saw nothing of the sort. Highly recommend.
