Damnation valt op door zijn grote, verticale levels en steampunk-sfeer, maar scoort slecht op bijna alle andere punten. De besturing is onhandig, wapens voelen zwak aan en de AI is vaak frustrerend dom. Veel spelers melden bugs en technische problemen die het speelplezier flink verminderen. Hoewel de platformelementen en de unieke setting soms voor afwisseling zorgen, wegen de vele tekortkomingen zwaarder. Het verhaal is chaotisch en de presentatie oogt onaf. Voor kopers die waarde hechten aan soepele gameplay en afwerking is dit een belangrijk aandachtspunt.

I'm basing my review on playing this game on co-op with my son. Damnation is basically a third person shooter game. You start off the game with two friends beside you. Your time is basically spent jumping from roof to roof and to make it even more difficult there is no map that tells you where to go so you're sometimes left wandering around trying to find out where to go next. You're also sometimes left struggling to see where you're going when scaling and jumping from walls. I would also expect that in a shooter game like this you would be able to take cover but it is almost impossible to take cover in this game. Your friends most always end up dying and lay on the ground crouched(like your GOW buddies)until you revive them. I'd suggest renting this or wait until the price drops tremendously before picking this up.

I have heard a couple of people bad mouth this game and they probably havent played past the opening screen. This is a very good game with lots of shootem up action but you have to get use to the controls. It has some of the difficult jumps that you might see in God of War and this is intimidating to many players. I have also heard that you get stuck and cant figure out what to do. All the puzzles I thought were pretty basic. You have too look at your surroundings and make logical decisions but I havent been stumped yet and Im probably half way thru the game. Believe me I play these kinds of games all the time and this is a good one.The graphics are very good and the two other computer comrades have decent AI unlike the terrible AI of my computer partner in Resident Evil 5. I dont know how long this game is but I have already put in about 6 hours into the game. Go Buy it.

Might possibly be the worst game I've ever played in twenty+ years of gaming. One of the first things you'll noticed is how repetitive this game is. Animations, voice acting, and game play are like a single CD set on repeat. In addition, the aiming and weapons (especially the machine gun) are near useless. The most annoying part of this game are the elevator rides. Do I really need to sit dead still in silence and watch and my character goes up for what seems like forever? This game drags on forever not only because they make you take never ending bike rides, but due to the fact you never have any clue where you are going. In summation, if you want to become massively frustrated with poor AI intelligence, poor gameplay, and like having no idea where you are going this game is for you. Otherwise stay away from this game, as I honestly could not find anything fun about this game.

This game is pretty much bad in every way possible. It tries to combine a platformer with a shooter - and fails at both. The platforming is dull, dumbed down and doesn't feel fluid at all. The shooter part simply feels tacked on. The cutscenes and graphics are awful. The story is boring..., the list could go on and on. The only thing that this game has going for it is the steampunk setting, but it does nothing to really draw you into it. Bottom line - stay away from this

I enjoyed the game the only draw beck to this game is that if you mess up you have to go back all the way to the start of the last saved game which is the start of the level.
