Star Trek - Conquest

Toen Bethesda Softworks begin 2006 de licentie kreeg voor Star Trek had ik goede hoop dat we weer een topper als Bridge Commander konden verwachten. Met Star Trek: Legacy en Tactical Assault nam Bethesda al een grote stap in de goede richting. Ze waren er echter nog niet helemaal. Met veel mods is van Legacy inmiddels toch een erg goede game gemaakt die ik nog dagelijks graag speel. De enige console waar Bethesda vorig jaar nog geen game voor had was de Wii. Ik was dan ook erg blij toen ik hoorde dat ze hier wel mee bezig waren. Lange tijd bleef het over dit project erg stil en heel geniepig stond begin vorige maand de game ineens op de reserveerlijsten van sommige internet winkels.

this is just simply fun to play. it is a game that you can go back to and it will be fresh. not very predictable and anything can happen. keeps you coming back for more. i was pleasantly surprised! better than i thought it was going to be

CONS: Have to sit through the boring intros EVERY TIME; Can't restart Skirmish (arcade play) without having to reenter all the game parameters every time; Main game is, frankly, a board game or at most a mediocre PC game. PROS: Interesting arcade play, but bad guys come in and out of the screen because it is too small; they can even hide underneath wording on the screen. That's about it. This shouldn't be a Wii game because there is nothing in it that requires a Wii controller; being on a Wii adds nothing to the gaming. Rent this before buying.

I'm a huge Star Trek Fan. Wanted this game for a while. Unfortunatly the ads were a bit misleading. I mentions lots of species you can play. You can only play six of them. There's no real objective. You play scenarios and skirmishes but once that little one afternoon battle is over that's it. You win or lose you get nothing for it. I mean it's great to try differnt skill lvls and stratagies but nothing really changes.
