De Garmin Edge 1040 blinkt uit met een uitzonderlijk lange batterijduur, een groot en helder scherm en zeer uitgebreide navigatie- en trainingsfuncties. De GPS is nauwkeurig, zelfs onder moeilijke omstandigheden, en de opslagruimte is ruim. Wel is het apparaat fors en valt het op, wat niet iedereen prettig vindt.
