Have initially compared them to many other brands, these have proven reliable over a long time period. We ship finished DVDs all over the world, and cannot afford to ship twice. Problems are rare. We burn 8 at a time in a dedicated duplicators.

Maxell, Memorex and TDK are dependable. I expect 0% failures. Remember to protect from sunlight. Other unbranded DVD have lost their coatings over time. Prefer +R since they allow for editing.

I have not seen such a high failure rate in all my DVD purchases. Before this, I considered Maxell one of the best available. Too bad, never again.

Just a quick note, since no-one has reviewed these yet. I ordered nine spindles of these, and they all came in the newer "MaxData"-branded packaging. One was Made in China, eight were Made in Taiwan, both of the spindles I opened, showed up as "RITEKF1" in ImgBurn. Haven't actually burned any of them yet, but I've had really good luck thus far with the own-branded Ritek "Magic Silver" and "Green Label" 100-spindles of 16x DVD-R, which were also "RITEKF1" media code for me.
