Sony SRS-LSR200

Bought for partner hard of hearing with hearing aid who needed sound closer to her to hear as TV across room from her chair. Finds sound more clearer now, Was fiddly to set up mind you.

Bought to hook up to my small TV via optical cable. Unit is nicely compact and reasonably smart looking. Instructions were rather confusing for me - confusing pictures combined with words in different languages in the same section. I ignored them and was up and running in a few minutes after the unit was charged up. Sound was very clear but not much bass which was slightly disappointing as that's usually a feature on the Sony products I've bought previously. The unit stopped working after a few days. I reached out to Sony support, but was directed more towards returning the item rather than trying to resolve the issue. I was sent a doc for troubleshooting, but could not open it. Returns process was easy enough and I've received a full refund in a timely manner.

I have used this for a month and it really helps me hear the tv without deafening my companions! Only gripe I have is that the instructions don’t advise where to place it relative to the tv and to myself, so am still learning.

Sony-The Wireless Handy TV Speaker is a great way to ensure clarity of speech without straining,and no need to have the TV blasting the rest of the family out of their seats.It sits on the coffee table,central to the room,so we can all hear it clearly.

Initially I would have given this speaker a higher star value since it is extremely useful and compact. Being a Sony you would anticipate that what you are buying is of a high quality and standard, but unfortunately my experience with both this item and my new Sony TV tells a different story. My first of these speakers lasted 15 months, so just out of warranty and the television lasted less than 8 months. However, this is now the second of these speakers that I own as my wife kindly brought me a new one. This will however quite likely be the last Sony product that we all buy
