De Sony A7 IV met de FE 20-70mm f/4.0G lens biedt uitstekende beeldkwaliteit dankzij de 33MP sensor en een zeer geavanceerd autofocussysteem. De grote buffer maakt het mogelijk om lange reeksen foto's te schieten zonder onderbreking. De lens is compact, licht en biedt een uniek zoombereik, wat hem ideaal maakt voor reizen en allround gebruik. Voor videografen is de 10-bit 4:2:2 video een groot pluspunt, maar let op: 4K 60p vereist een crop en rolling shutter is duidelijk aanwezig bij snelle bewegingen. De beeldstabilisatie is minder krachtig dan bij sommige concurrenten en het menu kan complex zijn voor nieuwe gebruikers. De prijs ligt hoger dan die van de voorganger, maar de prestaties zijn op bijna elk vlak verbeterd.

Used for a variety of bird / nature / motor racing photography. Good quality sensor of a sensible size. Great to hold, with nice retro style controls. Menu is pretty complicated if you are a non-professional like me but once you get used to it's complexity the logic behind it all does make sense. I have used many cameras over the years from Nikon, Fuji, and Sony and have to say this is the best value for money and most enjoyable to use.

I purchased an A7IV in October of 2022 and in July of 2025 it gave me an error message. The IBIS system had apparently malfunctioned- whatever, no big deal, I get that happens sometimes. Purchased a new one in July 2025 to replace the one being repaired, six months later (literally January 2026) the NEW camera I bought in July is giving me the same error. I cannot get in contact with a Sony representative to get this issue resolved, and if i do, they tell me to turn it off and back on and replace the battery (which i've done). Nobody will take it seriously and give me a legitimate reason why, after six months, a brand new camera stops working. Never been dropped or bumped either, mind you. I can only use it on electronic shutter mode otherwise it stops working. Unacceptable. I spent almost $3k on this camera and it gave out after six months of not even heavy use?

I have been eyeing up this camera for years and finally bought it 27th December 2025.... Had a few shoots with it already and the quality is insane! I Gain confidence in my ability as photographer every time I use it. Highly recommend it to anyone thinking of upgrading
