Ricoh GR III Diary Edition

It's a great camera, 2 small issues for me are that the battery life is a little bit short (small battery) and there is no integrated flash - even a small flash would be good but I have bought a compact hot-shoe mounted flash and it's a good work-around.

The RICOH GR III is decent for travel photography. It delivers excellent image quality and performs well even in low light. It's remarkably compact and easy to take with you on the go. It also feels well-built and has a very bright screen that can easily overcome glare in sunny conditions, though it lacks a viewfinder. Unfortunately, its battery life is poor, and its autofocus system isn't very reliable at tracking moving subjects.

Been shooting Nikon from film onwards. Quite disappointed when comparing this with the Nikon A Dx, which is very similar to the OTHER camera (GR III). I chose GR IIIx because I have used too much 28mm equiv lately. The lens is very average. Long min focusing, low peak sharpness, almost useless macro. It is better than some zoom pocket cameras. The metering is a bit bright most of the time, increasing instances of manual override. The peak sharpness zone in a photo is quite non-sharp, ...
