I have used the D610 for the last year now and I am really satisfied with this camera which I use as a relative compact carry around camera. Things that I appreciate above the D700 are: * the lower wheight * the more silent shutter * more accurate autofocus for some reason. D700 should be better but not my copy * more accurate exposure * the impressive image quality * the sd cards The D610 makes it possible to stay around 1 kg and create impressive quality with primes. I use the D610 with the ...

The functionality is very easy to navigate. However the D750 is far better in terms of user friendly. I feel very disappointed.

It's early days yet but, so far, I am delighted with the full-frame Nikon D610 purchased new from Amazon for just £824. Given Covid, I have not been able to test it fully but the early indications are good. Yes, I know its origins are a bit long in the tooth now but that doesn't matter to me. Being Nikon, it follows the lines of Nikon's other DSLR cameras and that means maximum ease of both set-up and operation. A novice shouldn't experience any problems. However, the first thing I advise anyone to do with any new DSLR - or any expensive camera at all for that matter - is to get a plastic cover for the rear screen and a screw-on filter to protect the lens. Both are readily available at Amazon at little cost.

Super camera. Much more sophisticated and lighter than the D700 I had before it. Hardly any different from the more expensive D750 that I have also shot thousands of images with. No issues with sensor oil on this. Great battery life. A bargain if you compare to the price of premium aps-c mirrorless cameras. Buy it!

I bought the D610 second hand in 2015. i was just starting photography and i wanted to join aboard the FF ship after a few months with my entry level canon kiss x5. Main reason for buying the D610: it was the more affordable FF option i had at that time. This modest looking camera is actually a good choice for starting photographers who want to learn fast. Here are some things i had to say after 4 years with the D610: 1. Price: for a non-pro hobbyist like me, it's reasonably priced for the ...
