Gardena 1000A Universeel

Perfect size for splitting wood blocks down to size for firelighters. Nice weight. Only fault is lack of grip compared to the bigger gardena/husqvarna range. Some tennis tape will solve that problem.

Seems like a good axe. Have read a couple of reviews about this and other axes from different brands arriving 'blunt', but not sure if people think axes are mean to be shaving sharp... As oppose to sharp enough to break/cut the fibre of the wood. Regardless gave it a go on a tree with branches a couple of inches thick and it made short work of the branch in question.
