De Yokohama BluEarth-4S AW21 in maat 235/55R17 103W XL is een serieuze allseason band voor wie het hele jaar door op één set banden wil rijden. De band wordt vaak geprezen om zijn sterke prestaties op nat wegdek: remmen, tractie en aquaplaningveiligheid zijn duidelijk een sterk punt, wat fijn is in regenachtige klimaten. Ook op licht besneeuwde wegen presteert hij betrouwbaar genoeg voor gematigde winters. Daarnaast is het rijcomfort goed en blijft het geluidsniveau meestal prettig laag, wat hem geschikt maakt voor dagelijks gebruik en langere ritten. Tegelijk zijn er duidelijke beperkingen. In zware winteromstandigheden en op ijs haalt deze band het niet bij een echte winterband, waardoor hij minder geschikt is voor bergachtige of zeer koude regio’s. Testen noemen bovendien dat de grip en stuurprecisie op droog wegdek bij hogere temperaturen slechts gemiddeld zijn; het stuurgevoel kan wat traag en weinig precies aanvoelen bij sportiever rijden. Ook de slijtage en verwachte levensduur worden doorgaans als redelijk maar niet uitzonderlijk beoordeeld. Deze band is dus vooral interessant voor bestuurders die veilige natweerprestaties en allround gemak belangrijker vinden dan maximale grip in de zomer of topprestaties in diepe sneeuw.

excellent silent and safe tire no grip problems both in dry and wet conditions, only a small criticism I have the impression that it tends to wear out quickly we will see, on the other hand in general with the 4 season compound that I know more of 30/35 thousand kilometers it is not possible to do, I hope to do at least another 15/20 thousand, however I will buy them back

It drives great. However, wear is very quick for 2 years. Now I have to replace it with new ones. Mainly front axle.

Good all-weather tire with good properties on dry and wet roads. Amazingly good properties in snow. Can recommend the tire.

Such an amazing tyre from Yokohama. Equally as good, if not better, than both Uniroyal and Yokohama winter tyres that I have used in the past. So much quieter too than winter tyres. Top rated traction on both snow and ice. I have passed taxi drivers and over enthusiastic prestige German car drivers trying to go up steep snow covered hills as the Yokohama BluEarth-4S AW21 just kept on going with confidence and tenacious grip. I would swear blind that my humble Skoda Octavia Combi was a 4 x 4 rather than FWD! I understand that this tyre is TUV Sud approved and I can totally as to understand why. Such good valve tyres so go and purchase some, you will not regret it!
