De Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S in maat 285/30R19 XL 98Y is een zomerband voor krachtige sport- en premiumauto's. Rijders waarderen vooral de zeer hoge droge grip, directe stuurrespons en stabiliteit bij hoge snelheden, waardoor de band erg geschikt is voor dynamisch rijden en incidenteel circuitgebruik. Ook de slijtvastheid wordt vaak positief genoemd voor deze klasse, zodat hij doorgaans langer meegaat dan sommige rivaliserende UHP-banden. Daar staat tegenover dat de prijs duidelijk in het hogere segment ligt en dat het geluidsniveau op de snelweg wat hoger kan zijn dan bij meer comfortgerichte banden. Het rijcomfort is stevig, passend bij het sportieve karakter. Deze band past vooral bij kopers die prestaties, stuurprecisie en remkracht belangrijker vinden dan maximale stilte en zachtheid.

Experienced Aquaplaning at approx 120 kmh on Belgian highway, had approx 4mm thread. Other than this, the tires wear out very quickly. Front wheels are down to 1-2mm after 18000 km. Front wheels wear out strangely on the outside, can probably blame the car model rather than tire for this... Rear wheels still have 3mm left and even wear. Switched to Hankook to see if I experience any difference.

Great great tires. Bought these 1 year ago because prior set worked so well and got great mileage I bought them again.

I bought Pilot Super Sport 255/40/R19 tires 7 years ago, but I do not use my car much in a summer. For 7 years I made exactly 35,000 KM (about 22K Miles). Over the weekend, replaced my wheels to Winter set and discovered my Pilot Super Sport has significant issue. The thread started to separate. All tires have very extensive wear on the inside edge of the tire (about 2 cm edge) and the rest of the threads is very good. It appeared to me the design issue. Looks like Audi A8 is pretty heavy for those tires, and yet, Pilot Super Sport has the right load index. My winter tires are already 55K KM with identical wear on all threads! Other than that, tires hold the road good! Only this year I could feed slight vibration. Now I know why.
