De Mackie 1202VLZ4 is een compacte analoge mixer die vooral wordt geprezen om zijn zeer lage ruisniveau, hoge headroom en de vier Onyx-micpreamps met transparante klank. De stevige stalen behuizing en de betrouwbare bouw maken hem populair bij bands, kleine studio’s en live-gebruikers die een duurzame mixer zoeken. Ondanks het kleine formaat biedt hij veel aansluitingen, flexibele routing met ALT 3/4-bus, aux-sends en stereo returns, plus een bruikbare 3-bands EQ en low-cut op de mic-kanalen. Daar staat tegenover dat er geen ingebouwde effecten of USB-aansluiting zijn, en dat alle kanalen met draaiknoppen in plaats van faders worden geregeld, wat niet iedereen prettig vindt. Ook zijn er maar vier echte mic-ingangen en ligt de prijs hoger dan bij eenvoudige instapmixers. Voor wie vooral geluidskwaliteit, betrouwbaarheid en compacte afmetingen belangrijk vindt, is dit echter een zeer sterke keuze.

Used it last night for the first time with our local choir. Did exactly what it was bought for. We’re nearly all pensioners so sound quality is very important

Bought to replace a 1202 VLZ PRO, which died after 23 years of regular use. Crystal-clear sound quality... hopefully will last another 23 years!

I bought 2 in the 90's. One for me. One for my father who plays. I bought a new one because the Front of House mixers are much cleaner now. How ever the other still work fine. Just a little noise.

I purchased this mixer for my live electronic music rig. I needed a mixer with two aux sends and a small footprint. My live electronic rig has to fit entirely on a 2 X 4 table and I was having a hard time finding something with all the channels and features I needed that would fit. This mixer is classic Mackie. Clean, lots of headroom and solidly built. Signal path and routing options are unheard of in a package this small. Its very flexible and doesnt have anything I dont need (USB interface, effects). I did a lot of research before buying this mixer and it definitely checks all the boxes.
